The album title is most likely a self-referential joke as Washed Out (aka Ernest Weatherly Greene Jr.) is considered one of the founding fathers of the so-called chillwave movement. Whatever genre you use to describe it (easy listening hip-hop?!), it's audio escapism in an era where escaping sounds really good.
